Exploring Media & Cultural Representation – 4th DigiSkill Online Dialogue

On September 9, 2025, the DigiSkill project successfully hosted its 4th Online Dialogue, bringing together 60 participants – youth, youth workers and educators from across Europe and Africa to explore the theme “Media & Cultural Representation.”

The dialogue was led by Adéla Mochanová, a social and cultural anthropologist with experience in multicultural childcare and extensive field research in Portugal and California. She shared valuable insights on how media narratives influence our understanding of cultures, identities and social norms, while also highlighting the importance of inclusive and diverse representation in today’s globalized world.

Participants engaged in an open discussion, reflecting on how different media portrayals shape intercultural dialogue and impact young people’s perspectives. The event created a safe and interactive online space for exchanging views, asking questions, and connecting theory with real-life experiences.

The DigiSkill project, supported by the Erasmus+ programme, brings together partners from Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Portugal. Its main aim is to strengthen young people’s digital and intercultural competences through online dialogues, training, and collaborative activities. By addressing key topics such as media literacy, diversity, and digital education, DigiSkill empowers youth to actively participate in shaping inclusive societies.

With more than 20 dialogues planned in total, DigiSkill continues to build bridges between young people worldwide, promoting understanding, collaboration and critical thinking in the digital age.
